Project - Tropical
Nestled on the boundary of a national park, the client requested a private, cool and tropical sanctuary to relax in.
Given a low depression in the lie of the land, the opportunity arose to introduce a pond area into the garden design. This would be central in cooling the client’s outdoor area, with a waterfall filtrating the pond and giving needed aeration to its inhabitants.
Privacy and dappled shade was achieved by framing the perimeter of the garden with fast growing syzigiums, golden cane palms and murrayas. Split sandstone forms the natural rim of the pond and waterfall and is utilised to create pathways throughout the garden.
